The mailaddress is correctly implemented, but the problem on receiving is, that on "first contact" T-Mobile sends a PIN to the sender which should be used in all further mails to the mobilephone address. Cause of that the first SMS (like verification) won't be sent to the phone.

PINs will be invalidated after 60 days of inactivity.

In Europe sms2mail functioniality is mostly available but no one hardly uses it.

Hope that helps. :)

Re: Identi.ca SMS Support Chart - Can You Help?

This is nor an answer to your question. But I do not understand what is this "SMS over email". Never heard of it before identi.ca came to existance

I am a very non tech person and I felt very comfortable about twitter SMS which only asked our phone number. But here it asks for our mobile carrier.

I tried emailing identi.ca admin letting them know about my mobile service provider. So far it is not added.
http://www.dialog.lk/en/index.html

Re: Identi.ca SMS Support Chart - Can You Help?

I'm in the Netherlands, my mobile phone provider is Vodafone. As with many (probably most) providers in Europe, SMS-over-email is NOT possible (either way). Which means no SMS with identi.ca, not even post-only (which I can still do with Twitter).

To use SMS to post to identi.ca I'll have to post to my (specially-set-up) Twitter acount, have a (still-to-be-written) agent pick up and parse my SMS posts, and sent that to identi.ca via its API - possible, but ugly.

Re: Identi.ca SMS Support Chart - Can You Help?

T-Mobile
iPhone (1st gen; jailbroken)
Messages must be sent using email client. SMS-to-mail not available. Inbound SMS messages all come from different IDs, so no threading or replying.
Verdict: NO

T-Mobile
old Motorola phone (v95, I think)
Inbound messages thread fine. SMS-to-mail gateway works with no trouble. Everything works beautifully.
Verdict: YES

Re: Identi.ca SMS Support Chart - Can You Help?

Verizon
old LG phone.

can send message from phone to yahoo mail.
can send message from yahoo mail to identica.
can NOT send message from phone to identica.

it makes no sense. but it does not work for me.
